Welcome to the New Invironment

Invironment is your home on Medium for unique and compelling narratives about the natural world and our place in it.

Our ensemble of dedicated voices come together to ask tough questions about the future of our planet and to share touching moments of wonder and exploration in Nature. Our authors and readers include gardeners, cooks, farmers, chefs, ecologists and nature lovers from all over this beautiful planet.

Alongside hopeful tales about the new wave of ocean farming by eco-entrepreneurs, engaging topical news from environmental non-profit organizations like the Nature Conservancy, and Friends of the Earth, you’ll find niche pieces on natural and alternative health, food labeling, gardening, cooking and recipes, the national parks system, and more.

Participatory Ecology

We believe nature is a continuum and we’re as much a part of it as rocks or trees, rivers or rabbits, elephants or hurricanes. The best way to be ecological isn’t just to be a passive observer, but an active participant in Nature.

To become a part of the Invironment ecosystem, read our submissions guidelines and share your stories with our growing audience.

We’re looking for well-written articles, creative non-fiction and original photography related to: nature, environment, food, farm & garden, foraging, natural building, sustainability, and the Good Life. Think: first-person nature experiences embedded in a global environmental context.
