Isabella Faith Tichenor from Salt Lake City was found dead in her closet this past Saturday, November 6th. She had hung herself at the age of 10.

We aren’t certain or not if a note had been left by Isabella, but her mother Brittany is quite certain what the reasoning behind her suicide is.

Isabella was probably one of the very few people of color at her predominately white elementary school, as well as being autistic.

A Utah native myself, I can easily say that Black people are definitely the minority in the conservative state. As liberal and diverse as Salt Lake City can be, there’s obviously going to still be people who continue to stand by their hateful racist views.

We all know that racism is learned and it’s not an inherited gene you’re born with. Children by nature are usually more tolerant and accepting of differences in others, but if their parents are bigots or sexist or racist, those traits can rub off fairly…
