If you make a mistake in a relationship, does it mean you should give up? If you lose confidence in yourself, does it mean you should end the whole thing?

Of course not.

I recently experienced a loss of confidence in myself. I started a completely unnecessary argument out of my anxiety. After it ended, I realized my mistake and berated myself. I should have known better. Why did I do that? I asked myself. Part of me wanted to give up. However, I soon realized that losing confidence isn’t like failing as a partner. I can acknowledge my self-doubt and still choose to stay committed. After all, if I quit after every mistake I made, I would not have a relationship. Part of being in a committed relationship is to keep on keeping on.

Part I: The Argument

“Why do you always ignore me?” I said to my partner with tears in my eyes.

“What are you talking about? I’ve put so much effort into spending time with you,” My partner exclaimed.
