I'm addicted to productivity hacks.

Despite realizing that most of the methods won't work for my ADHD brain, I still enjoy reading and writing about them.

I think subconsciously, I'm still searching for that one method that will magically negate my ADHD and make me a lean, mean productivity machine.

Of course, as anti-productivity scholars like Oliver Burkeman remind us, we are ALL searching for systems that will solve all our problems.

It’s a cycle I must have repeated a thousand times in my life as a productivity obsessive. I’d stumble across a new technique or system, or rediscover an old one, and for a day or two, I’d feel sure that implementing it would be the answer to all my troubles (of overwhelm, procrastination, unpredictable creative juices, etcetera.)…

And then, within about 48 hours, it would all feel totally lifeless.

I've seen the same thing happen in my life. I come across a certain method, go all in (read: do it for one day or one week, tops), and then forget about it.

Then, it's on to the next solution that will finally work. And the cycle repeats.
