Thriving In The Holiday Season
Finding peace and joy in the holiday season when you are struggling.
Holidays are a time of joy and family. It is a time when people gather together to celebrate and reconnect. But what about those of us who don’t have extended family around? What if the holiday season is a trigger for your own anxiety or depression? What if you’re struggling with mental health issues? What if you just can’t keep up with the expectations of the season?
The holiday season is a difficult time for so many people. Many people may find themselves alone in many different ways. Even sometimes when they are surrounded by family.
We see so much around us that tells us what the holiday season should be. That can be overwhelming when you feel your best, not to mention if you are struggling in your day-to-day life as it is. If you are already dealing with mental health issues it can be an added stressor to start to think about the parties we are expected to attend, gifts we need to buy, or lack of family connections we may long for.
For individuals who are already battling against their own mental health, the pressure from the holiday season can be too much to manage.
