What are you supposed to do?

What are you supposed to do,
when it all becomes so overwhelming
and you just want to collapse
in the middle of the road crying?

What are you supposed to do,
when you can’t get angry at things
because mama taught you
not to get angry when you have
so much to be grateful for?

What are you supposed to do,
when you hold on
for so long and just want to
let go — just for once?

What are you supposed to do,
when the expectations from
family, friends are not met,
and every time you look in the
mirror, all you see is failure?

What are you supposed to do
when everything you do feels
so… cringe worthy?
every time I speak? cringe
every time I smile? cringe
every time I think? cringe

What are you supposed to do
when you convinced yourself
that whatever you do
is all for naught anyway.

What are you supposed to do
when you try your hardest but
fall short every time?

What are you supposed to do
when your greatest enemy is
your own thoughts?

What are you supposed to do?
A single golf clap? Or a long standing ovation?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
