Today I am going to talk about a specific someone. Let’s call him Black. Black used to be an optimistic, happy-go-lucky boy who was always making people’s days with his joy and odd comedy. Rooted in his belief that everybody was equal and that the world was an amazing place with amazing people and animals and plants. He would wake up every day with a smile on his face, ready to do what he needed and wanted to do for the day and did it with positivity. His positivity rubbed off on other people around him and ultimately made everyone who worked with him enjoy his company.

That was over a year ago.

Now, Black spends his days finding fault in everything everyone does, challenging their opinions and inflicting harmful, insensitive comments and insults at everyone who he felt were not perfect in his eyes. He looks down on others and steps on them for him to elevate higher. He is selfish, thinking of himself first before anyone else, and would go to extreme lengths to ensure his needs are met, often at the expense of others. He lost his sense of empathy and compassion for others, preferring to treat them as objects and ignoring them if they asked for help. Now, he enjoys spending his days visualizing himself physically harming people who are around him, such as the gauging of eyeballs, the brutal stabbing of a body, the act of beheading someone as well as beating someone to death. He would smile, and his hands would start getting fidgety, waiting eagerly for that day to finally come.

He does the unspeakable, stealing, lying, cheating, manipulating, abusing, and betraying.

Black can’t seem to get a hold of what has made him into this monster, but he figures it is a combination of the horrendous external environment that is unfolding across the world around him and the immense amount of sadness and anger built up within him over a few years that have finally overwhelmed him and took over his mind.

Maybe one day he will find the path back to his old self. Maybe one day he will find the path out of this black hole. Maybe one day he will decide to call this home and master the art to all the sins of the world.

Maybe.
