The search engine for thoughts

First, if you are not familiar with the concept, go visit the link: http://inwordy.com/quoteappend

So during the process of creating InWordy, we were fascinated by applying some artificial intelligence magic on the huge database of thoughts that we’re are going to deal with. We decided to build a tool which can help someone explore the genius thoughts that ever existed.

Of course, applying a simple text search algorithm was not enough to deal with the thoughts.

Our goal is not to find text that is similar, rather thoughts that are relevant to a state of mind which generated that block of text.

Any expert of the field would admit that this is harder than 90% of the problems that you deal with in the present situation of information retrieval and artificial intelligence. What we want is not similar words but similar meaning, relevant understanding, and similar sentiments.

Take the example below:

Query: I just achieved something great and this is one of the biggest achievements of my life.

Top Result: “Life is one big transition.” — Willie Stargell

Second Result: “Nobody in this country realizes that cap-and-trade is a tax — and it’s a great big one.” — John Dingell

Well, what can we say. The computers right now are dumb, and we are trying our best to make them as intelligent as possible. Because of this, you will see a big BETA sign over the logo, and we are afraid it’s not going away soon.

We hope you get the idea of the application. Go to the tool, have some fun and reveal all your frustration in the discussion box. That would be the only way we can note down the bugs and improve them in near future. Alternatively, you can drop us a mail at feedback@inwordy.com .
