Monthly Update

Welcome #buidlers! We are happy to introduce this new series of posts in our blog in which we will be keeping you updated with all the latest key news from the development team every month. And what better way to start this new series than a hot update for the hottest month of the year? Let’s take a look at what was accomplished during the “holidays”.

A new look for our website

It was about time, but we have finally updated our corporate website with a new design and a lot more information. To start this new stage we have decided to commemorate the 50th anniversary of one of the most decisive moments in the history of mankind: the arrival of man to the moon. In a sense, we also feel like pioneers in the newest frontiers of information technology, where we hope to leave our footprint just as Neil Armstrong did on the moon back in 1969. Time will tell.

The new site offers more information about the company, our team, our investors and partners, how we work, our projects and much more, so be sure to check it out. As always, ioBuilders welcomes entrepreneurs as well as corporate/institutional partners with industry changing ideas for the development of the next product venture that puts blockchain into real use. If you are such an entrepreneur or company you can contact us through the Contact form on the website.

For developers looking to join a world class blockchain team, we have recently added new available positions, so be sure to take a look at the Careers section in our site and drop us a line if you are up for the challenge.

Full user verification module

We have finished developing the whole KYC (Know Your Customer) module for user verification for natural personas (individuals) in ioCash. The module offers all the API endpoints needed to easily implement the KYC process in any application, a necessary compliance process for allowing operations with higher quantities to users. Users completing the full verification process will now be able to operate without limits in ioCash supported applications. Compliance is a core component in ioCash and a crucial factor in all of ioBuilders products and ventures. The full verification process takes about 5 minutes for the user to complete and is basically composed of four main parts:

  • Phone verification: Phone is verified through an SMS code that can be requested both in a centralised or decentralised way, thus validating both the phone and the Ethereum account of the user.
  • Identity verification: Verification of the user identity is made through a short automatic video in which the user presents his ID card and himself clearly to the camera. It takes less than 1 minute and it is first verified automatically by machine learning algorithms (which takes seconds) and later verified manually by a trained BPO.
  • User basic data: Users need to inform about their living address and some basic economic activity information (for AML purposes).
  • Documents validation: Users submits some key external documents (such as a proof of external account) , which are verified manually by trained BPOs.

If you are interested in knowing more about the process and how to implement it into an application, you can visit our developer portal: https://api.io.cash/portal/user-operations .

Stay tuned

In the next month we will be showing how we are implementing some key parts of the verification process in our demonstrator app, Ourion, as well as more important advancements in the ioCash platform, so stay tuned!
