Getting things done with Pomodoro Technique®

The world has been full of interruptions, it’s hard to get focused. From my personal experience, the unique method of this time management technique is super simple and easy to follow.

With the release of Apple Watch, I want to see what’s it like to have a Pomodoro Timer on it. That’s why Today is born to life.

Download on App Store

Today attempts to introduce Pomodoro Technique to more people who are seeking for ways to get more productive and improve their workflow.

Today’s Features

Make a plan

Settings Screen

1). First, you need a plan. One Pomodoro is 25 minutes. Go to Settings page before starting and estimate your tasks with the number of Pomodoros, try make sure everything is feasible within a day.

Tips: Notice the shortcut for configuring the number of Pomodoros :)

Also, you can setup tasks relevant to your day job or any great habbits that you have always wish to inject to your routine.

Get into the zone

Timing Screen

2). Kick start the timer and be fully focused, try eliminate distractions. You’ll receive a notification and auto advanced to a break session after 25 mins.

Tips: By putting your phone in never unlock mode, you can always remind yourself (and others!) you are in the zone. Challenge yourself that 25 mins is not that long!

Review your progress

Dashboard

3). See how much you’ve achieved. The next day or when you’re happy with it, You can pull to refresh to start over.

Tips: Use the Calendar Integration feature to keep track with all your completed sessions!

Focus on Planning

Today asked you to focus on planning. You got to setup your task list before starting to work on anything. I found this to be a great way to ensure what yourselve should be doing instead of picking up task randomly.

And there are more.

Customizable Timers

The default length for a time session is 25 minutes, while the corresponding break length is 5 minutes.

Due to your needs, there’s an option in the settings to change the length.

Keeping Records in Calendar

When a session is finished, it logs your event to your selected calendar

Syncs with Apple Watch

User actions are sync in almost real time to Apple Watch and vice versa.

Give it a try

For whom already familiar of Pomodoro Technique, I encourage you still give a it try. You may realized that this app is slightly different from other Pomodoro Timers out there.

I can’t wait to see what you would inspire from Today, if you have any feedback, feel free to send to my email j@today.gd or visit the homepage.

Download on App Store

During the creation of Today, I also made a really useful plugin to enable the creation of perspective mockups in Sketch. If you’re Sketch user, you definately want to check it out. It’s called Magic Mirror.
