Blockchain x Energy Consortium Kickoff Event | Empower the Energy Industry in Japan with IOST Blockchain
In 2019, In Fujimi City, Nagano Prefecture, Japan, IOST collaborated with its node partner EverSystem and the energy consulting and retailing company ElDesign to introduce a P2P electricity trading project on IOST, and to empower the energy industry. The launch of this P2P electricity trading project on IOST, reported by 5 leading local media in Japan, has gained enthusiastic participation, support, and appreciation from the Town Major as well as the local residents.
Following the successful start of the P2P electricity trading project, IOST and its partners continue to push forwards more events and initiatives to further apply IOST blockchain technology in the energy industry. The Energy Blockchain Enterprise Coalition (EBEC) was founded, and the very first kickoff events were held recently in Tokyo and Osaka in Japan for 25 companies.
EBEC — Energy-Blockchain Enterprise Coalition
A majority of the demonstration experiments using blockchains are conducted without a sufficient selection of technologies and business models. This challenge prevents many projects from going commercialized in the later stage of development.
EBEC provides support & a platform where energy companies can conduct in-depth discussions about business utilization methods and business models with multiple blockchain companies, hence, bridging the gap in the implementation stage.

As the founder of Energy Blockchain Enterprise Coalition EBEC, elDesign, invited energy companies, blockchain developers and people who care reusable energy to the EBEC Kickoff events in Tokyo and Osaka of Japan. This event strengthens the cooperation with energy companies and blockchain developers as well as keep the group well-informed of the latest blockchain technology and its applications in the energy industry.
The event was held in Tokyo and Osaka and attracted a total of 40 participants from 25 companies.

The Fujimi P2P Energy Trading Experiment To Conduct in March 2020
EverSystem and elDesign are working on test importing the data of data from solar power generators and biding between generators and consumers. elDesign and its group company Morino Energy will use a blockchain-driven bidding system and incentive mechanism to conduct an on-chain electricity trading experiment between companies (or individuals) in Fujimi. The experiment begins on March 2nd through 12th in Fujimi where residents who actually live in participate.
