An Introduction to the Faces of MUXIC

MUXIC is led by a team of seasoned professionals from the Hong Kong music industry, alongside a team of IT research experts from the University of Hong Kong.

Kenneth Chau, CEO and Founder, brings forth 15 years of expertise within the music technology domain. He embarked on his journey in 2008, contributing to the development of pioneering music products at Apple Computer. In 2012, he led a startup to triumph among over 7,000 global contenders, emerging as champions in the NBIA Technology Group Championship. Subsequently, the venture won the gold medal and special awards at the International Geneva Invention Exhibition the following year.
Professor Francis Lau, CTO, formerly Head of the Department of Computer Science and the Associate Director of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Hong Kong from 2000 to 2019. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo and has over 30 years of experience in the music industry, IT research and application.

Technical Advantages

MUXIC possesses patented technology that seamlessly combine physical and virtual concerts, thereby creating metaverse live music events that bridge the gap between the virtual and tangible worlds. This innovation forges stronger connections between audiences and their beloved artists and brands.

The metaverse platform can accommodate over 10,000 active players/avatars, who can join via the application or their preferred web browsers.
The network architecture has been optimized to support real-time video streaming between virtual platforms and user devices or physical environments.

MUXIC designed virtual idols for the opening ceremony of the 2022 BAM Festival for Mercedes-Benz, seamlessly merging motion capture technology with virtual idol stage performances.

In February 2023, MUXIC offered a groundbreaking solution for HSBC, hosting the first-ever live synchronized metaverse and physical concert in Asia (“Duoverse”), incorporating real-time motion capture technology.
By strategically collaborating with the Fringe Club, MUXIC has organized over 20 music events since November 2022, including concerts and workshops across a handful of genres, including popular, classical, and jazz, some of which incorporated metaverse elements.
