As of the time of writing, the number of transactions on the IOST mainnet has surpassed the 600 million mark, reaching a record high of 616,214,175, and is still growing.
By virtue of its unique consensus mechanism — PoB, the performance of the IOST mainnet has been outstanding since its inception. While securing decentralization and security, the IOST chain also features high scalability and concurrency, allowing thousands of transactions to be carried out simultaneously, with a peak TPS of 8000 transactions. This provides a solid technical foundation for IOST and its partners to expand business cooperations.

Block height
As of the time of writing, the block height of the IOST mainnet has surpassed the 160 million mark, reaching a record high of 168,993,885, and is still growing.
Here, we would like to note that the block height of IOST has surpassed, by far, the block height of other similar public chains in the same period of time after the respective mainnets were launched. The block height has a certain correlation with the processing speed of the network. If we observe one certain period of time, the blockchain with the higher block height and the more transactions contained per block is faster in terms of transaction processing speed.
Block height refers to a specific location in a blockchain, measured by how many confirmed blocks precede it. The current block height of a blockchain is an indication of its current size or time in existence.

Number of Contracts
As of the time of writing, the number of contracts on the IOST mainnet is 1,203, which is 10 times more than a year ago! This means that more developers have joined IOST and are developing DApps based on IOST technology.
