The first half of 2020 has come to an end. Looking back at the first half of the year, due to the impact of the pandemic, some offline activities of IOST and meetings in global universities had to be postponed. That said, in general, IOST completed every milestone on the roadmap for the first half of the year on time or ahead of schedule, and firmly fulfilled its commitment.

For technology, the IOST development team has maintained an innovative attitude and has updated and optimized the mainnet frequently. From Olympus v3.3.2 to v3.3.5, our mainnet is more secure, easy to use, fast, decentralized, and has high scalability.

As a crucial element for the sustainable development of the IOST blockchain, IOST has released major updates and optimizations for the IOST Partner Program in the first half of 2020 and will keep delivering new versions in the future. From Staking Mechanism v3.0 to Staking Mechanism v4.0, IOST partners’ incentive policy was updated to provide more rewards for partner nodes that make great contributions to the ecosystem. But not only contribution incentives have been increased, but IOST has also launched an on-chain governance mechanism, hoping to find a balance between community participation and governance efficiency.

In terms of cooperations with government & enterprises and implementation, IOST and Aiou Technology have successively inked cooperations in China, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland, and other countries, and implemented IOST applications. IOST and Aiou Technology have:

  • Launched Shanyiou charity information publicity platform to promote charity transparency and help pandemic prevention and control in China;
  • Signed a memorandum of understanding with the world-class University of Zurich University;
  • Joined Hyperledger, the world’s most widely used consortium chain system;
  • Strengthened the relationship with AWS in China;
  • Became a Qualified Developer of the Blockchain Service Network (BSN);
  • Partnered South Korea’s Kakaopay cooperative logistics company dKargo;
  • Collaborated with a well-known Japanese medical institution Pracs to build a blockchain medical record system;
  • Worked with the National Archives Administration (NAA), the national agency under the China Central Committee of the Communist Party in national archives management.

For the second half of 2020, IOST will fully explore the DeFi ecosystem. At the same time, IOST will continue to work on the Nodes Program, DApp ecosystem, cross-chain technology, implementations, compliance development, cooperation with government & enterprises, community expansion, and work with industry practitioners to jointly promote the construction, development, and growth of the blockchain ecosystem.

And now, IOST officially announces the roadmap for the second half of 2020, consisting of the objectives and plans for Q3 and Q4 2020:

About IOST

Supported by Sequoia, Matrix, ZhenFund, and other world-class investors, IOST is a leading blockchain platform developed for online service providers. IOST is now officially one of the Big Four public chains alongside with Ethereum, EOS, and Tron.

IOST achieves high scalability and TPS through the POB consensus algorithm and the design of the second-layer solution. Through developing an effective community-owned network, it provides a platform for third-party developers, creators, and enterprises to realize greater value. IOST can improve transaction performance without sacrificing decentralization, i.e. protecting privacy, public participation, and protecting communities from malicious attacks.

If you would like to hang out with the IOST community on chat, social media or to discuss product development, we have something for everyone:
