In the popular coin voting event, from July 16 to August 16, 2020 organized by Huobi Japan/co-hosted by HashPort, IOST officially won the number 1 spot against 5 other popular blockchain projects Tezos, Ontology, Enjin, NEO & Qtum, all of which have active community members and talented developers in Japan.

IOST started its activities in Japan in 2018. From the beginning, IOST has focused on educating potential engineers and contributing to the understanding of blockchain technology in rural areas. IOST’s activities have grown into a Free Blockchain Education Program”, in which the team worked with law firms and software development companies to provide free workshops to 7 universities and educational institutions and over 300 students to understand advanced technologies.

Overtake the first place 2 days before the event closes

IOST started in third place at the beginning of the popular coin voting event. The IOST community quickly grabbed the second-place spot, with a gap of nearly 90 votes to the first place. In for the homestretch, one week prior to the event closure, IOST nodes launched a campaign to thank the fans for voting for IOST, and the number of votes for IOST continued to grow.

Two days before the end of the event, IOST turned the tables, overtook Tezos, and claimed the first place. By the end of the event on August 16, the gap to the second place was more than 100 votes.

Thanks everyone who voted and to the IOST community for your support!

More than 100 voters gave their support to IOST and we are grateful to all those who participated, the IOST community, and all those who supported us. We would like to thank all those who participated, the IOST community and all those who supported us.

On behalf of the IOST team, I’d like to send my gratitude to all the community members especially those who voted and the nodes for the supporting IOST in Huobi Japan’s voting event as well as in our recent developments and progress.

IOST Won with 424 Votes by Over 100 people

Finally, IOST has been working on the social implementation of blockchain technology in Japan. This is only possible because of the developers and engineers who believe in the IOST ecosystem, and IOST will continue to work with them to prove that they are right in their ecosystem projects.

And a special thanks to Huobi Japan and Hashport for hosting and co-hosting this event.

*Note: After the voting period ends, Huobi Japan will proceed with the listing application taking the cryptocurrency with the most votes as a candidate. However, Huobi Japan does not guarantee the listing.
