The IOST Foundation is pleased to announce that all contribution rewards and voting rewards for Servi Nodes, Partner Nodes and Voters have been released on April 25, 2019.

Note: IOST Foundation paid out rewards according to on-chain data. Voting rewards were paid out to BISS and Huobi Pool for those who voted through these two channels. If you have yet to receive your rewards, please contact them on their respective channels directly.

On 25 April 2019, 9pm Beijing time, IOST and the IOST Core Arbitration Community (ICAC) jointly held the IOST Global Nodes Ecosystem Conference. The core meeting agenda was to review the ecosystem contributions made by IOST Nodes in the first quarter of 2019.

On behalf of IOST Foundation, Terry Wang (CTO) and Ben Waters (Head of International Markets) attended the conference, where various Tier 1 Nodes gave introductions and shared about their contributions made to the IOST community. 96 partners from the United States, Japan, South Korea, China, UK, and multiple other countries attended this conference.

The conference was moderated by Margarita from ICAC, an independent organisation initiated by IOST Pacific focusing on education and training on community governance. ICAC does not have any arbitration function and does not participate in governance implementation. All community members, whether you are a node or an individual, can participate in IOST ecosystem governance.

(A) IOST Conference Keynote

Head of International Markets — Ben Waters

Ben extended appreciation to partners and community members participated in this conference and presented a review on IOST Partner Program, contributions made by partners, and contribution assessment for Q1 2019.

Content Creation Category

  • Unique and valuable contents are scored highly.
  • Guides and tutorials that help users understand and use IOST network gained high scores.
  • Self-promotional nodes are scored lower.
  • Translating IOST-related news and reports into different languages is a good option.
  • Reports and news reuse without any new input is scored lower.

Dapp Development Category

  • Only a few Dapps were developed on IOST between March 10 and 31, which means that only a few partners are focused on this category
  • There are many potential opportunities for developers interested in creating Dapps on IOST to participate and do well in the Dapp Development Category.
  • Complete statistics for IOST Dapps are easily available for review. For example, we can know which Dapp have the highest traffic and user number from tools like DappReview.

Integration Category

  • This category includes several well-known teams such IOSTABC, which is commonly used and well-received by IOST community members.
  • Nodes such as TokenPocket and BISS, which allow users to vote, also played a major role in driving the success of the IOST Node Elections.

Events, Meetups and Hackathons Category

  • A few interesting offline hackathons were organised and held by IOST Nodes to increase awareness for both community members and developers.

Community Building Category

  • This is a broad category, which can be interpreted in different ways. IOST Nodes have contributed both in terms of adding value in IOST official community groups and in building their own Node community groups.
  • We have received excellent contributions made by partners in terms of community building.

IOST ecosystem building now enters Q2 2019, which is the first full quarter for IOST Nodes and the Global Partners Program. To some extent, Q1 is a test round for us to examine how everything works, providing us with assessment results and benchmarks to gain higher scores and more rewards in Q2 2019.

(B) Sharing Sessions by Tier 1 IOST Nodes

IOST Pacific (Community Building)

IOST Pacific Representative — Catherine

IOST Pacific is a professional team focusing on blockchain community governance. They are based in Hong Kong and provided governance education and training for over 20 chains including EOS, BOS, CyberMiles, GXC, Lambda, Conflux and others.

It has established the well-known brand “Pacific”, providing reliable, world-class node validation services, and also pioneer various blockchain community governance mechanisms backed by its professional legal and compliance team.

Over the sharing session, IOST Pacific reiterated their desire to contribute to the IOST community and lauded IOST as one of the few projects that truly promotes community governance.

Crypto Beadles (Content Creation)

Crypto Beadles

Crypto Beadles used their YouTube channel, TV shows and social media to support IOST community in addition to supporting the mainnet by running the Crypto Beadles Servi Node.

Leobi (Content Creation)

Leobi — Inside IOST Podcast

Leobi is the first exclusive podcast and Youtube show that covers IOST news. Compared with other video creation nodes, its contents only focus on IOST. Leobi favors a slow and steady growth community growth, and look to drive organic views and interest in IOST. In addition, Leobi created a rewards calculator for voters to calculate their expected voting rewards. Pete, a member of Leobi, is a writer for Dapp.com and had covered IOST in his articles. Leobi had also created various infographics explaining Servi changes, Servi mechanism and rewards distribution.

BitBoy Crypto (Content Creation)

BitBoy Crypto

BitBoy Crypto has consistently turned IOST written content into video format, sharing interviews, updates, voting strategies for the IOST community on his Youtube channel. Whenever there is a new Medium article that’s relevant, BitBoy Crypto tries to convert that information into an interesting video for the community. BitBoy Crypto aims to create a daily crypto series, with a special segment specifically covering IOST news in this series.

BitBoy Crypto is also keen for IOST Nodes to collaborate and information share. For example, different Youtube channels can help each other by inviting each other onto their shows. This is about pushing IOST forward, not just individual nodes, because if IOST does not succeed, nodes will not succeed either.

BitBoy Crypto is also looking to be more creative in content creation and even contribute in other categories, because with more competition, it will only get tougher and tougher to continually be in Tier 1.

DappReview (Content Creation)

DappReview CEO — Vincent Niu

DappReview started to support IOST DApp ecosystem from late Feb, and had put in great efforts to collect statistics for IOST Dapps from early March. There are 13 Dapps built on IOST so far.

DappReview made two major contributions in terms of DApps:

  1. Showcase IOST Dapps on DappReview and promoted them to its community. It also wrote guides and tutorials to teach users how to explore Dapps on IOST.
  2. Guided users from other chains to explore Dapps on IOST and also hold IOST token airdrops to grow community interest in IOST.

DappReview will publish a Dapp Report in the middle of this year, which will include IOST and be shared across major media platforms.

TokenPocket (Integration)

As the first wallet supporting IOST ecosystem, TokenPocket has now added new functionalities of IOST account creation and import, IOST pay and transfer, resource staking, voting, IOST administration management, block explorer and IOST DApps exploration.

In terms of ecosystem building, TokenPocket hopes to collaborate with more IOST Nodes to push IOST forward and enrich the ecosystem. TokenPocket plans to strengthen the incubation off Dapps on IOST with more incentives, and will add on new programs to attract more users to join the IOST ecosystem.

IOSTABC (Integration)

IOSTABC Representative — Alan

IOSTABC created a user-friendly blockchain explorer for IOST and will continue to build tools and applications to contribute to the IOST team and community and make IOST a breeze for users to interact with.

IOST World (Content Creation & Community Building)

IOST World has made great contributions in the following aspects:

  • Community growth and management
  • Public relations to promote IOST both internally and externally
  • Provide guidance and educate community over live chat
  • Blog and media publicity
  • Various other IOST-related activities

TeamJoy (DApp Development)

Development experience review:

  • Among the public chains, IOST hold the main advantages of being developer-friendly, complete product development, well-designed development platform and excellent technical support.
  • The current mainnet is already more stable than most other public chains.
  • There is an active base of Dapp users, and are looking forward to continued growth and an even larger Dapp community in the future.
  • The development of a Dapp game may take more than one quarter, which may affect contribution reward calculation.
  • Rewards payout period: Quarterly rewards mean that rewards will be paid out in large amounts at a single point in time, which may adversely influence IOST price.

Metanxy (Community)

Team Metanyx shared that it had been a real pleasure to be involved with IOST development team, which has been highly responsive in product development, including new development features bug diagnosis. Team Metanyx also shared that they have already been involved in making suggestions and following the IOST ecosystem closely since April, 2018.
