In December 2018, the IOST Node Program was officially launched. For more than a year, the IOST Node Program has operated steadily and achieved great success worldwide. Developers, DApp development teams, exchanges, mining pools, media companies, investment institutions, communities, KOL… More than 400 node partners have made active contributions to the development of the IOST ecosystem in their respective fields.

During this period, IOST has also continuously optimized the partner node plan. The vote freezing period has been shortened from 7 to 3 days, increased the contribution rewards, and fixed the number of participants.

And now, considering the interests of all parties and in order to give even more incentives to partner nodes who really contribute to the ecosystem, we have made new adjustments to the contribution reward system. The following is version 4.0 of the IOST Staking mechanism.

Changes:

The new changes will be implemented on July 1st. The contribution rewards that are based on the share of votes will be moved to the contribution rewards that are based on the contribution ranking to better compensate nodes who make significant contributions to the ecosystem.

In total, 105M IOST will be reallocated from rewards based on votes into rewards based on contribution for nodes.

Node Contribution Rewards Per Tier

Assuming that there are 91 days in a quarter, with the number of partner nodes in each tier reaching the maximum, and 20 nodes in tier 5.
