Sigma will airdrop IOST mainnet accounts to Ethereum addresses & Burn 500 million IOST in the process

Sigma empowers the innovative development of IOST Web3.

Sigma is hosting an extensive campaign to introduce the Ethereum users to the IOST Web3 ecosystem with an airdrop to active addresses of Ethereum IOST accounts for free to promote a new space for innovation and development of Web3 — The IOST Web3 Ecosystem. Every address with at least one transaction on the Ethereum network is eligible for this airdrop. According to the snapshot that Sigma has taken, the scale of this airdrop exceeds 50 million Ethereum addresses.

This upcoming airdrop is a move by Sigma further to promote the integration of the Ethereum and IOST ecosystems and empower the innovative development of Web3 on IOST. Sigma will steadily expand the application scenarios of Web3 in the IOST blockchain network, explore new possibilities and values, and promote the construction of IOST’s Web3.0 towards a broader and more diverse next-gen network.

How to claim the airdrop? Simple steps:

  • Obtain your IOST account name through Sigma’s authentication program
  • Use the matching Ethereum address private key to import it into IOST’s decentralized wallet iWallet
  • Activate the free IOST account given by the Sigma team.

Notes:

  • This airdrop is a long-term event that will be gradually completed.
  • Creating an IOST mainnet account requires 10 IOST tokens. Sigma will successively create IOST mainnet accounts for more than 50 million Ethereum active addresses and burn a total of around 500 million IOST.
  • For the information about the progress of this event, please follow Sigma’s official telegram channel and Twitter.

Stay tuned for the campaign details, launch date, and phases!

Sigma, IOST’s partner in the construction of Web3

IOST has been deeply involved in the research and development of Web3 core technologies and planning application landing scenarios in the last quarter while promoting Web3 construction. By virtue of our original PoB consensus, the IOST network runs steadily at a speed of up to 8000 TPS, enabling users to experience smoother DeFi, GameFi, Web3 dapps, and more. At the same time, the on-chain fees that users need to bear are close to zero.

Project Entroverse, our secret weapon!

Project Entroverse is IOST’s path to EVM compatibility, cross-chain, and interoperability. IOST unveiled the EVM fund — a 100 million dollar incentive fund short after to provide more support for developers worldwide, thereby accelerating the implementation of the IOST multi-chain ecosystem to achieve the exponential growth of the IOST application layer and the number of users. As an essential partner and strong supporter of the IOST ecosystem, Sigma was selected as one of the EVM fund benefactors upon the launch of IOSTSwap — a secure and seamless decentralized cross-chain protocol to connect the IOST and Ethereum ecosystem based on IOST’s EVM solution.

To incentivize the use of IOSTSwap and give ERC-IOST (Wrapped IOST) further utility, Sigma also launched the IOSTSwap Farm shortly after the bridge was live, and farmers were able to obtain considerable rewards and staking income through IOSTSwap Farm through Wrapped IOST. The launch of the IOSTSwap Farm inaugurated IOST’s multi-chain ecosystem, and we have now entered the stage of building dApps, user bases, and multi-chain liquidity.

IOST’s vision of Web3

With the fast development of the crypto industry, emerging concepts such as DeFi, NFT, Gamefi, “take action” to Earn, etc. have quickly spread all over the world. In the past two years, a large number of Web 3 applications have begun to emerge.

Web3 is an idea for a new iteration of the World Wide Web based on blockchain technology, which incorporates concepts such as decentralization and token-based economics. However, even though Web3 has received widespread attention, its construction and development are also facing challenges:

  • Due to the high fees on blockchain networks such as Ethereum elevating the threshold for users, many users are still unable to experience the Web3 and participate in its construction and development;
  • The implementation of Web3 is bound by factors such as speed, information security, and other restrictions when developing multiple application scenarios.

It is undeniable that the Internet is at a critical turning point in the evolution from Web2 to Web3. Reinforcing the research and strategic planning of Web3 development is of vital significance for the construction and improvement of the Internet ecosystem in the future.

About Sigma

Sigma was established in 2018, focusing on researching and developing core blockchain technologies. The team members are all graduates from world-class universities such as Harvard University, the University of Chicago, and Tsinghua University. They have developed a variety of high-end “blockchain +” products for a handful of partners and enterprises worldwide.

Since its establishment, Sigma has aimed to empower the digital and intelligent development of the real economy with blockchain technology. It is committed to promoting all-around and multi-dimensional innovation and developing cross-chain interconnected ecosystems.
