Community Self-Governance through Proof-of-Believability and Community Voting

IOST will soon be the fourth most usable public chain platform beyond Ethereum, EOS and Tron. By virtue of our Proof-of-Believability (PoB)mechanism, IOST will also become the most scalable and decentralized non-DPoS public blockchain available for users and developers.

Our PoB-based mechanism creates a positive and equitable system that motivate more users to get involved in IOST community self-governance. This outcome is also what Node Partners are pursuing and the true spirit of blockchain technology.

Therefore, IOST fully support IOST community members to exercise their rights on community governance: we will motivate community members to give us your valuable feedback and plans on IOST’s future development.

The IOST Core Arbitration Community (ICAC) initiated by IOST Pacific hopes to open a new chapter in IOST community governance. As a third-party IOST core governance community, ICAC is responsible for the education and training on community governance.

ICAC does not have any arbitration function and does not participate in governance implementation. All community members, whether you are a node or an individual, can participate in IOST ecosystem governance.

At present, ICAC has organized a number of online meetings with global Node Partners and community members totaling over 500 enthusiastic participants.

IOST Partners Ecosystem Building Conference Successfully Held by ICAC

At 10:00 Eastern Standard Time on February 21st, ICAC held the second IOST Partners Ecosystem Building Conference. The purpose of this series of meetings is to bring our Global Node Partners together to discuss equitable rewards distribution rules, share their business plans for the IOST ecosystem, and to draw inspiration and closer collaborations betweeen our Partners. IOST will decide how to distribute contribution rewards and make them available to the community after a comprehensive consultation with the Node Partners.

We hope that more Nodes Partners and community members can participate in the formulation of the distribution rules for contribution rewards based on the community consensus.

Over 70 Node Partners from around the world, including North America, South America, Europe, Southeast Asia, China, and Japan, participated in the discussion. 26 Node Partners gave speeches sharing their commitment to the IOST ecosystem and how they plan to contribute to the growth of the IOST network.

The meeting was presided by Michael, the first Chairman of ICAC. In addition to over 70 Node Partners, Jimmy Zhong, CEO of IOST, and Ben Waters, Head of International Markets of IOST, also attended and gave their speeches.

Keynote by Jimmy Zhong, CEO of IOST

Jimmy expressed his appreciation for all Node Partners and community members present at the conference from around the world. Jimmy also announced the planned developments of IOST in the conference. Details are as follow:

  • IOST Mainnet will launch on February 25th. Over a Live Stream of Twitter, Jimmy will release plans on DApps, stablecoins, decentralized exchanges(DEXs), block explorers, wallets and more.
  • Token swap will start on March 10, and major exchanges are giving their support for the IOST token swap and community voting. Dapps, stablecoins, decentralized exchanges(DEXs), block browsers, and wallets will all be deployed on the same day, and ready for users to access publicly.
  • On March 10, IOST will become the fourth most usable public chain platform beyond Ethereum, EOS and Tron. We welcome Partners, developers and users to join us in this fast-growing and inclusive ecosystem.
  • Over 200 candidates from all over the world having joined IOST’s Global Partners Program, and nearly half of the candidates have reached the threshold of 2.1 million and officially became node partners.
  • We encourage more community members passionate about the development of IOST’s network to apply to the IOST team to become nodes.
  • The IOST team will continue to push towards our vision of 100M users and break into the global Top 20 projects by market value within 2019.

Within one month after the mainnet launch, IOST will fully deploy its ecosystem game plan, from games to content DApps, from B2C and B2B support, from stablecoins to decentralized exchanges, from block explorers to various wallets, from developers tools to a secret weapon that lowers the barrier of crypto adoption for users. Jimmy is highly confident and optimistic that IOST will give users, partners, enterprises and more a truly usable decentralized platform to interact on.

Keynote by Ben Waters, Head of International Markets of IOST

Ben is responsible for the development of IOST international markets outside China, Korea and Japan. Ben thanked ICAC for organizing this very meaningful meeting. “We are at the start of something truly special. We are pioneers of this nascent technology and are building the foundation for something that may shape the lives of future generations”, he said.

IOST will announce the preliminary contribution rewards program in the next few days, and they will further discuss it at the next ICAC meeting.

Metanyx in the future will integrate a variety of Dapps from other technical sectors once the network stabilizes the source code. Metanyx plans to use a proportion of the Node rewards to fund these initiatives. We have wealth of experience in development running global networks that are currently live.

Some of the specific focuses include integrating IOST to a payment platform (point of sale as well as online), integrating IOST as a method to facilitate advertising content on a digital signage platform and using IOST to cryptographically sign documents for legal contracts.

22. Rate3 Network (Singapore)

Partner Speech

Rate3’s value proposition lies in the fact that any organization or entity leveraging upon it can create tokens (utility tokens, stablecoins, asset-backed tokens, securities, etc) and move these tokens across multiple supported blockchains.

IOST will be supported on Rate3’s cross-chain protocol for tokenization and identity management alongside with Ethereum and Stellar. This will allow the network effects of all these interoperable blockchains to grow exponentially, where products may be constructed out of integrations to various Dapps from seperate blockchains. The iStablecoin on IOST will be a prime example of this, as users of each of the different chains will be able to seamlessly transfer payments among each other.

Having already established strong relationships with licensed and reputable legal and custodian partners in Singapore, Rate3 can also help IOST gain a good initial foothold on the security token space, thus enabling potential STO issuers to conduct their security token offering here in Singapore on top of the IOST platform.

Alongside our work with potential network participants, we’re excited to help bring our network to IOST in the US - primarily the introduction of IOST to third parties in the cryptocurrency and fundraising space who can help take IOST towards mainstream adoption.

24. IOST News (United States)
