Ngesa Marvin, a 5thyear Telecommunication and Information Engineering student, is among the team representing Sub Saharan Africa at the Google I/O 2017 in San Francisco, USA. Google I/O brings together developers from around the globe for an immersive experience focused on exploring the next generation of tech.

Ngesa Marvin who is the Internet of Things (IoT) Champion for Google Developer Groups, GDGs in Sub Saharan Africa was selected to be in this team as a recognition of his involvement in advocating for the internet of Things in the region. At Dedan Kimathi University, Ngesa found a supportive environment for his ideas and his energy. “You can go to any school and learn just the academics but at DeKUT, there is a strong technology community that gives lots of chances for students to lead, learn and collaborate.’’ says Ngesa

Apart from the Conference, Ngesa Marvin who is also an Intel Student Ambassador will be attending the Intel Google I/O Day Zero Party 4.0 and the GDG Global Summit. At the Intel Party, he will learn about the latest Intel collaborations with Google and other Intel tools that inspire and help engineers and developers to innovate.

The GDG Global Summit is an opportunity that brings GDG Organizers from around the globe together for community-building, training, and learning exchanges. This Summit occurs the week of I/O to capitalize on the influx of GDGs that take over Silicon Valley that week.

Kenneth Kinyanjui, a DeKUT alumnus and former Lead GDG Kimathi University is also attending the event. He is currently a Google developer Expert in Cloud and the GDG Lead Nairobi.
