Intel® AI Student Ambassadors Recognized at Intel® AI DevCon
Taking place at the San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts, Intel® AI DevCon (Intel® AIDC) featured top minds in AI including Andrew Ng and representatives from Amazon, Facebook, Google, Microsoft and more. Joined by leading data scientists, developers, and AI engineers from Intel, the conference focused on the latest perspectives, research and demonstrations on breaking barriers between AI theory and real-world applications.
Intel® AI Student Ambassadors attended from around the world representing South Africa, Egypt, UK, Poland, Kenya, Nepal, India, US and Canada and several were recorded giving talks about their projects. The videos and posters will be showcased at upcoming Intel® DevCamps and DevJams, but you can watch them now:

AI Student Ambassador Rouzbeh Shirvani wrote a blog post sharing his takeaways of the event. He — called out the technical hands-on labs — giving the opportunity for participants to implement state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning methods. The labs showcased how developers can use Intel® technology such as Intel® Xeon® processors and cloud technology to develop machine learning models for training and inference purposes.
AIDC presented the perfect opportunity for Intel to bring in the top ambassadors for a summit to celebrate their contributions to the program. A special dinner was held on Sausalito Island the night before the conference and Morris Beton, Intel’s Vice President of SSG/DRD, gave a keynote recognizing the achievements that Ambassadors have made in the AI space over the past year.
In addition to the Ambassador’s posters being displayed at the welcome reception, they were given a chance to speak about their work with the other Ambassadors and Intel employees. Ambassadors were also presented with special gifts as recognition for their work and given reserved seating at keynotes throughout AIDC. They also had the opportunity to take part in an Exploratorium After Dark event and a San Francisco Walking tour.
If you weren’t able to make it to Intel AI DevCon this year, or missed a few of the sessions, all 45+ presentations are available on demand. Upcoming Intel® AIDC events will be held in Bangalore, India (August 8, 2018) and Beijing, China (Fall 2018).
