We Are Back From The Industry Of Things World Event
Past 23–25th September, part of the Barbara IoT team went to Berlin to participate in the Industry of Things World event, where we had our booth and presented our new Partnership Program.
When we first heard about the Industry of Things World 2018 event, we realized that it could present a big opportunity for us to make an approach to the European IIoT market.
“Industry of Things World is the leading business platform for smart manufacturing and the Industrial IoT. The event focuses on real word end-user case studies on how smart manufacturing technologies are changing businesses and industries. Speakers from all over the globe give insights into their concepts and present current strategies.”
Given that its audience was composed of more than 700 attendees, coming from the biggest companies in the sector, we thought it was the most suitable place to present our new Partnership Program.
The show at a glance
- Date: 23rd-25th September 2018
- Place: Berlin, Germany.
- Main topics: IoT, IIoT.
- Subtopics: cloud, robotics, automation, standards, interoperability, security, data.
The innovation lab
Attendees could walk through our booth in the Innovation Lab hall, where we shared space with other startups in the industry. The purpose of this pavilion was to present the innovations to watch in the IIoT sector.
Being part of this hall allowed us to reinforce the concept of “ecosystem” that is needed in the IoT market. Thanks to this, we could have a holistic vision of the pulse of the European IIoT market and look for potential partnerships to add value to the IoT services offered in this region.
Furthermore, as participants in the Innovation Lab Hall, we had the opportunity to pitch our business model to the audience. This presentation was carried out by our CEO, David Purón. He had the opportunity to present our product (Barbara Software Platform) and explain how our business is run. This was a great opportunity to share our vision of how the IIoT market is evolving and why a product like Barbara makes sense in this situation.
From our booth, we could present a demo of our software so attendees and walk-throughs could gain knowledge about Barbara Software Platform and the different business cases where it can be of help.
Event highlights
In our opinion, the Industry Of Things World event was really interesting from an industrial point of view as its main purpose was to understand the state of the art of IIoT technologies.
We got to know the different cross-industry and vertical cutting-edge solutions within the European Industrial IoT market. And we could recognize some trends to be watched closely.
- Security. Barbara OS offers security by design which is crucial to guarantee secure deployment and maintenance of the IoT devices during their whole lifecycle. With Barbara, the applications related to any IIoT infrastructure being part of the smart manufacturing solutions are also safe. With our live demo, the attendees had the opportunity to take a more in-depth look on how to keep this security along the lifecycle of any device. We showed how to keep the proper health of the devices and have a solid technology that creates real benefits for the different industries.
- Ecosystem. After participating in this event, we could reinforce our conviction that building a solid technological ecosystem is key to succeed in the market. It is crucial to have not only infrastructure platforms partners, but also vertical companies which are offering specific solutions into concrete industries. The show gave us the chance to consolidate our relationships with our current partners and develop our landscape with new ones.
So, to sum up, the event has been a great experience for us as we’ve come back with interesting new perspectives and reinforced approaches that help us to continue our expansion in the European market, and more specifically in the German one. We hope the experience has been as fruitful for the rest of participants as it has been for us.
See you soon!
