IRISnet (a.k.a IRIS Hub) is designed to be the foundation for the next generation distributed applications. IRIS Hub enables cross-chain interoperability through a unified service model, while providing a variety of modules to support DeFi applications. The interoperability supported by IRISnet is very suitable for those application cases requiring on-chain/off-chain/interchain information exchange and collaboration. IRIS Hub is designed to support not only token transfers across internet of blockchains, but also to allow consumption of data and computing resources across heterogeneous systems mechanism, token economics, etc.
IRISnet’s roadmap has been organized into four named and well-defined stages: Pangu, Nüwa, Kuafu, and Houyi. The fourth stage, Houyi, started in March 2021 and is planned as the moment to focus on further technology innovations, including TIBC (Terse IBC) protocol, interchain NFT applications, the IRIS network, SDK and mobile client, as well as developer engagement.
IRISnet has an important mainnet upgrade coming up soon on November 14th, the moment when the Terse IBC(TIBC) protocol and the improved NFT features will go live. This update also means connecting IRISnet with other public blockchains such as Ethereum and BSC as well as a start to become an NFT Hub facilitating cross-border trade of digital/digitized artwork and bringing closer to the vision of the Internet of Values.

- Go to the Starname App and log in with your Gmail account.
- Go with the flow to claim your starname: type the name you wish, pick *irisnet domain from the drop-down list, register it, and…. it’s yours!
- You can now set up your *irisnet starname and link it to your wallets using the Starname App so you can start sharing your *irisnet starname and receiving crypto through it!
Each starname comes with a Starname Profile, which is a simple way you can share the crypto information you would like to share! You can use the starname in the apps the Starname Service is integrated (Cosmostation Mobile App, Request Invoice Service and Sputnik Bot for now), alternatively, the Starname Profile can be used as a payment interface or a way to share your crypto addresses too.
