Quick guide to the Starname Manager
Some lines about how to start registering starnames and set up Starname profiles 💫
Launched during our 6th Community Call, the Starname Manager was thought to simplify the user experience of dealing with starnames and $IOV — and now you can manage all that easily and safely in only one place.✨
With Starname Manager (desktop version only for now 🖥️), you can register starnames — as many as you wish!, edit them, transfer them, set up Starname profiles — the one stop for crypto addresses and social media links, make $IOV transfers and even buy $IOV with a credit card.
To get started you need to log in and, for that, you can use either Ledger or Keplr Chrome extension. Alternatively, “View Only Mode” allows you to check your account, but authentication is needed for any changes or transactions you want to do.

Once logged in, to navigate the Starname Manager is simple: follow the navbar to go wherever you want to go.
💰Balances: shows your balance and the option to buy $IOV with a credit card. Even though it is possible to buy a starname using either IOV tokens or fiat currency, you will need a few tokens to set up your Starname profile and update your information. Updates are transactions and this is why you will need tokens.
⭐Starname Basic Edition: here is where you can buy starnames basic edition (format yourname*iov or yourname*cosmos) and it is also here where you can manage/transfer the basic edition names you already have.
🌟Starname Premium edition: just like the basic edition, but here you will deal with premium edition names (format *myname).
🏠Your blockchain addresses: here is where you can see your star1 address, which is your crypto address on our chain. If you are using Ledger, you have the option to see your address on your device.
➡️Transactions: here is where you will be able to see the history of your transactions and also send $IOV to another star1 address, or starname 🌟, clicking on the blue button up left that says Send tokens.
How to register a starname with the Starname Manager?🤔
To register a starname with the Starname Manager, either premium or basic edition, you just need to click on the type of name you want to register then on then on Register Now. You can buy a starname with $IOV or fiat currency.
Once your starname is registered, to set up the Starname profile, you will need to make two transactions (for these transactions you will need IOV tokens and you can get them easily going to Balances → Buy IOV tokens with a credit card 💳):
1. The first transaction will be to update your picture, your bio and the links to your social media. Click on the edit next to Information about you, add your info and click on Update.
2. The second transaction is to add/update your crypto addresses. Add and update the addresses you want on your profile and click on Save.
Now you can check how your Starname profile looks going to its webpage, to which you will find the link just after your crypto addresses:
