A proof-of-stake network is as strong as its validators. As Starname has recently started a newly-invigorated chapter, we are thrilled to announce that Tendermint, a core contributor to the Cosmos network, has decided to run an IOV validator.

This announcement comes during a time when the current blockchain ecosystem is developing more rapidly than ever before. The recent endorsement of cryptocurrency by giants in the likes of Tesla once again highlights the upcoming trend of more enterprises entering the cryptocurrency world. We at Starname aim to be at the forefront of this development and stand more firmly with Tendermint as our newest validator.

Tendermint to Secure IOV Chain

Tendermint’s decision to validate on IOV sparks massive interest in terms of the value it can bring with its team of security experts who will participate in the IOV ecosystem through the Tendermint validator.

Tendermint’s large scale of operations will cover various aspects involved in running a validator, allowing Tendermint to be fast to respond to any challenges that may arise in the future. This shapes Tendermint to be not only a reliable partner in the current upkeeping of IOV, but also in the future development that we have recently announced.

The partnership between Tendermint and Starname shapes the future of Starname $IOV into a platform that can successfully sustain itself while handling the dynamic changes and the requests of future potential partners, users, and enterprises.

Strength in Depth

Tendermint is set to commit a hardware security model (HSM) for its validator on IOV. Such a depth of commitment comes with additional layers of security through sentry nodes and redundancies within the Tendermint infrastructure. Each part of the Tendermint engine comes with its own background of expertise and experience, enabling Tendermint to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the outstanding existing validators on IOV while providing ample experience and knowledge to simultaneously drive Starname forward.

“Tendermint has been supporting promising projects in the Cosmos ecosystem that can contribute to further expanding the overall utility of blockchain technology. Starname is one of the projects that we have been working closely with, and we believe Starname has a set of unique features that is unparalleled in the space. We are excited to support Starname in its journey by becoming a validator on IOV” commented Peng Zhong, CEO of Tendermint.

Community Expectation

Through this partnership, the community of both Tendermint and Starname can look forward to working in close alliance in the upcoming development. While it serves as an expansion of reach for Tendermint, it serves as leverage for upcoming new developments for Starname as it aims to gear more towards enabling cryptocurrency payments for retail and institutional users.

Most importantly, the larger blockchain community can enjoy a more secure IOV chain when engaging with the services provided by Starname.

“We are happy to welcome Tendermint among our validators today. It is a mark of trust and respect for our consensus, and it once again validates our ties to the internet of blockchains. From the start, the best validators joined us with this desire to bring blockchain to the people and help us in our mission to the mass adoption of the Starname”, said Karim Ganem, CEO of Starname IOV.

About Starname

Starname is a fully decentralized, blockchain-based username platform, bridging the popular internet and the complex blockchain ecosystem by allowing users to create customised usernames that represent their blockchain wallet and identity. Started in 2018 by IOV, an award-winning French company based in Paris, Starname was built to be the first of its kind, with large interest from the conception that granted the project enough financial support to build a fully-functioning end product. The Starname service opened its doors in August 2020, integrated its first partnerships, and is now releasing the dApps for Manager and CryptoProfile, as well as bridging to Ethereum and Uniswap.
