The Rise of the Starname
A story about the future of payments
In any startup, there is always a large part of the ideas that are moved by a dream. These dreamlike thoughts make every day unique and, at the same time, make you move forward with the belief that you are going to change the world.This is often what guides entrepreneurs on their way and it is precisely this destination and this purpose that gives you the energy and the strength to act even in times of extreme difficulty.
Sometimes it happens that this dream turns into reality with enough work, collective action and focus, not to mention the inevitable luck it takes to succeed.
At IOV, we have had this vision for 3 years that it would one day be possible to transform the promise of blockchain for the benefit of the whole world.
We have designed our technology from the very start to allow anyone, whatever their situation, to become a creator of values and simply exchange, send and receive value, using a unique address of value as easy to remember as an email.
This technology has a name today.
It’s called the *starname.
About the *starname
For us, the starname is first and foremost a way to avoid human error in crypto-currency. This has always seemed to us to be the necessary and sine qua non condition for a blockchain for everyone.
So one way to avoid human error is to allow an address to be identified with the naked eye. As is the case in our example below.
When we highlight the potential of the starname, we can quickly understand that it goes far beyond just a simple domain name.
Indeed we thought the starname to be the payment support for an entire industry.
Its main characteristics are as follows:
Starname allows companies and people to be named to allow payments between them.
Starname does has its own chain and is multi-chain and in fact, allows the interoperability of values.
Starname is completely ready to be available on the digital wallets thanks to an API open to all.
Starname is based on a robust and latest generation technology, the Cosmos SDK.
Starname was designed to be a token economy on its own. Starname is a fully decentralised name service. The guiding principles have been explained early in the project in a previous blog post series.
How to get your starname?
We will announce in the next few days how to register your own starname so you can start using it. Join our Telegram group and stay tuned!
IOV Token holders will be the first ones to choose their starnames. We have reserved a few branded names for their legit owners, all other starnames are ready to take on a first-come, first-served basis!
