We will finally open the pre-registration of starnames for ATOM holders on December 23th at 3PM Paris time. It was supposed to be this Sunday but we need more additional time to finalize our process about the trademark research we are putting in place right now.

How is it going to work?

1. Check the availability of the premium starname you want to request and make sure your starname is not a trademark.
2. Create an IOV address and make sure to write your 12 words in a safe place (if you lose it, we will not be able to recover your premium starname). Use https://iov-one.github.io/address-generator/#/mainnet to create your IOV address.
3. We will open the pre-registration for ATOM holders for a fixed number of blocks on the cosmoshub-3 chain. We’ll announce the start and end blocks a few days ahead of time. During the pre-registration period you can try to reserve your starname by sending 0.1 atoms to our monitored Cosmos address.
4. After the end of the pre-registration period, our team will check each starname to make sure this is not a trademark, which will take us up to 7 days.
5. After 7 days, you will be able to go back on starname.network and check if you starname has been registered by searching on it and see it is linked to your correct IOV address.

In any case, there is no guarantee that you will get your requested starname because someone might beat you to the punch. Be aware that your transaction is not refundable in any cases.
