Which color comes to your mind when you think of the manufacturing company 3M?

Maybe it’s a bright red as indicated by its bold yet simplistic logo, or perhaps a combination of yellow, green and black from their most iconic product, the Scotch Tape. However, unless you’re well versed with the company and its products, the color royal purple would have never crossed your mind.

3M holds a trademark (color trademark) on the color purple, making this company the exclusive intellectual property rights owner of this color on adhesive products and any financial gains that is obtained from the utilization of this color in the adhesive industry. It should be noted that 3M takes the initiative to inform their customers and potential customer regarding this particular shade of purple and regularly puts up trademark messages on their products.
