The Future of Intellectual Property Laws
With most of the world still trying to contain the spread of the dangerous COVID-19 infection, quite a lot of government (especially law enforcement and emergency services) resources have been diverted to this global war against the ongoing pandemic. Due to this medical crisis, there has been a noticeable increase in white-collar crimes, especially crimes related to intellectual property.
In today’s world of constant national lockdowns and new coronavirus outbreaks, the enforcement of Intellectual Property Laws might seem like something of a luxury that the world Connor afford right now, with many of these so-called “lesser” crimes being ignored by most of the general public. It should be noted that such sentiments could be carried on to a post-pandemic mind-set, and possibly future governmental policies eventually leading to the dismantling of the global intellectual property status quo for better or worse.
