Hello, world! It’s been a while since we’ve talked. How are you? We missed you.

It’s summer here in Berlin, which means two things: pretending that it’s nice enough to play outside and building new internet infrastructure. Here’s what the team at IPDB has been up to:

1. Fighting for the future of the internet:

We’re proud to be part of the July 12 Net Neutrality Day of Action. Decentralization depends on equal access to the internet tubes. If we lose net neutrality, ISPs could do unpleasant stuff like throttling decentralized protocols or encrypted traffic. So we’re standing up for the internet.

Want to help? Act now to save net neutrality and stop widespread throttling, blocking, censorship, and extra fees: battleforthenet.com

2 . Running the IPDB Test Network:

The IPDB Test Network will be updated to BigchainDB 1.0 on July 13. More than 100 developers have created accounts on the developer portal, and we’re inviting more people all the time. We plan to open the Test Network to the general public soon, but for now you can still apply for early access.

3. Figuring out the future of music with Open Music Initiative, Spotify, and Resonate:

This Thursday, July 13, come join IPDB and BigchainDB as we host the Open Music Initiative, Spotify, and Resonate for a wide-ranging discussion of the future of the music industry. Speakers include George Howard from OMI, Erik Beijnoff of Spotify, and Peter Harris of Resonate.

4. Planning the 9984 Summit:

The first 9984 Summit will be held this October 5 & 6 in Berlin. 9984 will bring together some of the leading minds in blockchain and decentralization to discuss Blockchain Futures for Developers, Enterprises, and Society. Tickets are available now.

That’s all for now — see you soon!
