What a statement. Schloss Nymphenburg dominates the surrounding area. Ridiculously over-sized wings spread out from the central building. The ceiling fresco in the main entrance is so stunning that it takes a few moments to comprehend what the scene is actually depicting — the glory of Bavaria of course. The gardens are enormous, so much so that there are five ‘small’ palaces scattered throughout the property to allow the Bavarian royal family the convenience of escaping from their summer retreat.
Every part of the estate is focused on portraying one image — power. And it works.
