A Conversation With Shame
Tuning In!
One day I sat with Shame
and asked:
Why do you make me
contract so much?
Don’t you know,
this life is a dance?
You need to expand
after you contract.
And, I breathe.
And, I sway.
My silence makes way
for Shame to speak.
I am the cage
that you have put yourself in,
It says.
How? Do you ask?
You believed deeply
in other people’s agendas.
You stopped listening
to your truth.
Your belief kept me
bound in place.
You named it your wound
and had a love affair
with your woundedness.
Hiding your hurting self
in the woundedness,
you forgot the dance
that was for you to dance.
First contract and then expand.
You forgot,
the rhythm in Your veins.
Is Your Dance.
You became mesmerized by patterns of pain.
You forgot that you are meant to discover
the rhythm that’s uniquely yours.
Tune in to your breath.
Listen deep.
It first contracts, then expands.
Listen to your heart.
It knows the way.
Ask yourself, Observe.
What’s my rhythm?
How many contractions, and
when do we expand?
Your heart knows the way
Your unique rhythm for
your unique dance.
You will get it.
Once you do,
Rejoice! Dance!
All energy wants to flow
All woundedness wants to grow
Deepening your rhythm, you shall know.
You are here to live fully.
Your soul has agendas for you,
Listen.
Shift your attention towards
what’s whole in you from
what’s broken.
That which breaks you free
from being broken,
serves the whole.
