Waiting for the night

A poem

Photo by Zohre Nemati on Unsplash

Waiting for the sun to go down.
Waiting for the night to come.
Waiting for the world to slow down.
Waiting for sleep to come.

Come to my dreams to whisper sweet nothings.
Spend some time sitting quietly next to me.
Smile a little and crack a joke.
Leave a small token to cherish until our next meeting.
