there are hills and mountains inside me
where intricate, soft paths make a way
around their rockiness
paths that swirl and shimmer in sunlight
leaving the dark behind

paths that soothe waywardness and
fussy stirrings of pilfering memories
they guide you to the straight and narrow
then fill you with encompassing pastures
of space and freedom
from taunting thoughts where
fences reside

they lace the soul with blissful longings
a renaissance of pure affection and
diligence
where happiness creams the heart
a dessert of evolution
a triumph of indifference to baneful
interference
only clear paths to stoicism and a
meaningful life.
