a wandering mind

Drifting away from reality
in a dream that seems so real.
Awake during a sleepy daytime.
Lost in thoughts, I long to feel.

No hope, no ambition, no needs and no love.
A façade the surrounding world sees.
So peaceful and quiet, no urgency nor drive.
Floating free of the world’s stinging swarm bees.

Reality becomes a dream.
Mind melts into another place
loose from the chains.
I can do as I please
how I please
and with whom I please.
Everything is the way I want it to be.
Perfect perhaps? Not really.
It’s just another me.
