An aching need to go
to my happy place.
Close my eyes.
Remember.
Senses overload.
See and hear and smell all of it.
Can almost touch and taste it too.
That place was for me.
Go there every time.
Don’t want to come back.
Ever.

Though when I open my eyes
calming moment restored.

The perfect day
Somewhere in the past
We were all just together.
That summer holiday at the Bay.
If it had to be my last day on earth -
this would be my day.

A yearning to return to
a place, a time
an earlier period of life.
Coming Home.
It’s somehow better than
the here and now.
Emotionally bound and bittersweet.

Longing. Sadness. Loss.
The signature of the Past lost.
A moment in time.
Belonging. Connection. Purpose.
Mind-mates sharing their thoughts
and feelings about the
meaning of life
with gay abandon.

Mind time travel
recreating an experience
sometimes from decades ago.
Always curated.

Should I mourn that moment lost?
