At Exactly the Right Moment

At exactly the right moment

the dark shadows thin
and the sun inches upward, widening
as it gains momentum
brightening as it climbs

At exactly the right moment

shades of grey and green and gold move forward, revealing
lines and shapes and images of the world
around me, untouched
by the trio yoked to my soul; loss, loneliness, regret
- yet

At exactly the right moment

you are there
pushing aside the cloak of absolutes
in the early mist of daybreak
and for me

At exactly the right moment

A new day begins.
