Centipede with Blisters

a hundred feet
tap the tiles
hard calluses

shuffle pause
listen for the drip
of routine plumbing

at night soaking
massaging cream
into thickened skin

dreaming lightness
gracegazelle steps
leaving a trail

of shed burdens
for now he lumbers
heavy friend
