Eyes Wide Open

I could have the words safely tucked behind my ears
my feelings neatly folded in my back pocket
I could keep on dreaming you in closed eyes
so I’m not even sure why I let it slip and unfold

Maybe, just maybe I’m tired of this empty dreams
I’ve come to wake up — 
eyes wide open in reality
