Faint of Heart

Free verse poetry

Fear of confrontation.
Fear of emotional and
Physical pain.
Emotional pain the most
Difficult to bear,
An inherited state?

The nurtured experience from young
Leave no room for development in adult years.
The twisted anguish to do right,
Tormented feelings,
Overpowering crushing fear’s
Power takes control.

To stand up to oppressive nature
Stealing the freedom of will!
Instead, bowing down
To punishment, to anguish,
Oppressing the human condition.

Taxing situations finds blame
To pour on others, to use distraction,
To take attention from the real
Issues at hand.

To desert good friends and leave them
To fight their battle all alone.
No back up, no back,
The spine was never there.

It took the awful to find out the sad and lonely truth.
Now a cross alone to bear, their cross alone to bear.
