flowers in the night
take away the fright
of peepers, creepers, and
spite

they capture first your eyes
their scents can make you cry
of remembrance and long-lost
sighs

their colors still shine
in the night at nine
that shout they’re doing fine

cut one before it sleeps
so then there won’t be a peep
the flower warm and sweet

bring flowers inside
to cast its spell with pride
making you smile wide

always plant some flowers
bringing you new-fashioned power
to make your days sweet, not sour

flowers bring love to the door
their special way of making one rich
not poor
bring some inside, and you will soar

flowers brought indoors
will feed your desire for more
a panoply at your core of forever more.
