All Hallows’ Eve,
Walpurgisnacht,
Day of the Dead,
All Saints’ Day,
Día de Muertos.

Call it what you may.

Trick-or-treat,
Ghouls and ghosts,
Costumes, cobwebs, candy,
Tombstones and Jack-o’-lanterns,
Skeletons, bright orange pumpkins.

From the corner of my eye
maybe, just maybe, I see
flying by, a wacky witch
from long ago, and far away.
