A testimony of love

I’ll never forget
How we held each other’s hands
All the way throughout saying our goodbye

We cradled each other
As if we were the only two
Humans left on earth
As our hearts exhaled silence
We whispered forgiveness

Love never ceased
It just transformed
Changed shape into grief

We never said goodbye
But merely
Thank you
For everything
