If you feel you are worthy of love,
Then you are also worthy of heartbreak.
Can you watch your lover walk out without noticing you?
And feel drowned in the sea of disbelief.

If you feel you are worthy of trust,
Then you are also worthy of mistrust.
Can you tolerate being not believed by a friend?
And feel drowned in the sea of doubts.

If you feel you are worthy of kindness,
Then you are also worthy of malevolence.
Can you tolerate being treated unkindly by a stranger?
And feel drowned in the sea of dislikes.

If you feel you are worthy of forgiveness,
Then you are also worthy of punishment.
Can you tolerate not being forgiven by your own child?
And feel drowned in the sea of emptiness.

If you feel you are worthy of being alive,
Then you are also worthy to face death.
Can you feel the fear of loneliness that death brings?
And feel drowned in the sea of hopelessness.
