Breathing epitaphs of past glory
Moving testimonials of wars won and lost
Walking remembrances of battles waged and fought

Scarified and permanently marked
Branded forever by life’s liquid fire
Internally disabled or externally disfigured
The scars remain bearing witness
Of loves and wars…
