These three haikus are a progression of my thoughts as I cry and heal, processing my breakup last month. Love hurts, but it’s the most beautiful and powerful force in the universe. It will always be worth it.

But there is something even more important… staying true to yourself.

it hurts

the stabs of heartbreak
wishing for fire, losing steam
dejected travels

myself

I cry in my sleep
I’d searched for my true soulmate
I discovered me

a siren’s call

singing my heart song
vibrations for my lover
our drums beat as one
