My Perversion

Barely concealed, each woman
waits for my eyes to betray me,
a self-conscious stab of silence,
pulling at shirts for more fabric.

Don’t look. Stare at their throats,
lock eyes until it’s uncomfortable,
steal glances from fish mouths
being reeled up to breathlessness.
