Porcelain Doll

She is nothing like Kintsugi.

She glided across the room,
Effortlessly.
Heads turned-
360 degrees.
Transfixed to her Nirvana,
Eternal beauty.
That captured the hearts of men
Their minds,
And bodies.
Hypnotized by her smile,
Pretty-never innocent
Full lips- inviting,
Blood red,
Diabolic
Smooth voice,
She tuned out doubt,
And beguiled,
She Hypnotized
Trapped in her web of deceit
Crafted upon,
Year and years of training.
Poised,
Like a piece of art.
Perfection.
But hidden in the throes of her soul
Was gall unmatched
That caused many a mortals’ fall
Underneath her porcelain face
Lay tiny cracks of guile,
That shattered those around her.
Had they taken time to really see,
They would have known,
She was nothing like:
Her cousin Kintsugi.

This poem talks of how in history men have fallen for getting rich quick schemes. From afar they can see happiness, but when they draw near, they are shattered on learning the truth. It is also a contrast to the poem Kintsugi who is just the opposite.
