Starry Skies and Darkened Nights

a darkened night without stars
brings a forehead’s crease
we can still wonder even without the stars
which brings us nighttime peace

where do they go when not in sight
that makes our brows furrow deep
maybe to bed like us each night
for stars bring light to keep

if we could catch a falling star
how many wishes would you make
one to a hundred seems right
blowing our wishes upward for
heaven to make

forgiving is like giving a star away
for someone to wish us well again
always hoping for the best to come
love making our hearts bend

when a night is full of stars
and their light spreads far and wide
we can still make one to a hundred wishes
letting everything out from inside

love makes the world go round
though not as easy as picking it from a garden
for love doesn’t grow on trees or plants
but comes with every pardon and a
heart not hardened
