I have been collecting
these pieces of mine
left behind by those I loved.
Every time I look back
to see how far I have travelled
It terrifies me
of the horrors yet to come

Will this fear stop me?
I want to say no.
I really do
But my soul cries for mercy
Between the embrace
of emptiness
And the silence
of a heartbreak
it asks me
to choose to drown myself
in nothingness.
In the aftermath of the storm,
I find myself floating on a plank.
Will I be this lucky,
the next time
I’ll dare to challenge
the high seas?
